The armor room in the Art Institute of Chicago was really interesting to me. I love history, so it was fascinating to see the actual different types of armor that were used during the times of the Renaissance. The piece to the left is Italian half armor from about 1575 that was for the Foot Tourney at Barriers. The intricate details were very impressive. The piece to the right exhibits German armor for a man and his horse in the Maximilian style. Not only the tiny details impressed me in this armor, but the immensity of the spear amazed me because it had to be incredibly heavy to carry along with all the armor.
